Biography
Having worked in the counseling field for the past 8 years, Ian is excited to be returning to DMU where he graduated in 2013 with his Master’s in Clinical Psychology. He was licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a professional counselor in 2016 and has worked at Chrysalis Counseling Centers in Culpeper Virginia since graduating. While there, he received certifications in Child Centered Play Therapy and Relationship Enhancement Therapy for couples and families. He gained experience in supervising other clinicians and also supported the agency in developing and implementing a program that worked with parents of children who were at risk of being removed from the home in order to develop parenting skills. Ian also recently has started learning about Internal Family Systems and incorporating that into his clinical work. Recently, he has also had the privilege of serving as clinical faculty for the DMU School of Counseling.
