Faculty – Julia Klausli, Ph.D.

Dr. Klausli joined the faculty of IPS in 2016 mostly teaching in the area of statistics and research methods and also serving as a capstone advisor. She earned a MA in Counseling Psychology from Columbia International University and received her doctoral training at UT Dallas where she continued as a research associate focusing on research in the area of parenting and family processes and father care as well as developmental effects of relationship-focused child care for low-income ethnically diverse children. During this time she taught Statistics and Marriage and Family Psychology at UT Dallas.

After her time in Dallas Dr. Klausli lived with her family in Stuttgart, Germany for six years where she taught Research Methods, Statistics and Cross-cultural Counseling and mentored doctoral students at the European School of Culture and Theology near Stuttgart. Since returning to South Carolina, she has been adjunct faculty at Columbia International University teaching Introduction to Psychology and Research Methods.

Current research interests are in the areas of spirituality and depression in college students and approaches to self-care amongst individuals who work in full-time ministry. She is happily married and the proud mother of four lovely girls. In her free time she enjoys long walks, playing piano and bassoon and enjoying a good cup of coffee.
