MSP helped me to heal so I can help others flourish - Bernadette Mutirende MSP Alumni Testimonial

0:06I am Bernadette Mutirende, and I am a certified life coach. I have a master's degree in psychology from Divine Mercy University. Actually, I have this here. I live in West Orange and New Jersey. I am originally from Rwanda and I went through the nineteen ninety four genocide. And a few years later, I, fled the country with my kids and then we went to France as an asylum seeker. And again, in a few years later in 2010, my family and I migrated to this country. And, these were really tough decisions with, pain and the fear. So I wish I had someone to help me during those trying times. That's why I decided to help others who are going through those trying times. I was at that time wondering how can I get those skills, those needed skills in psychology to understand the human mind, to understand the, the people I will be helping?

1:16One day I was listening to EWTN, right, as I do every morning, and I heard that this ad about IPS, Institute for Psychological Science at that that time and being a a Catholic institute. I said, wow. So I contacted them and, they explained me everything about IPS model at the time. The Catholic, Christian met a model of the person. So this is a model that places the person, the human person, in the middle, in the center. A human being, a child of God created in the image of God and after the his likeness with the innate dignity. And this really actually blew my mind because I have never heard this from any type of education. During the twenty eighth month of, this program, it really helped me to heal all those wounds from from the past.

2:18Every class, every course we had had something special. But really, the one that touched me the most is the Catholic Christian, vision of the human person and the Catholic Christian vision of flourishing. This professor, Ian Murphy, was actually teaching those two classes I just said. He really, really touched me a lot. And now I'm using it to help others to, to go through the difficult challenges they are going through. I would advise anyone who is considering or is contemplating, going to, to divine mercy university, especially to this program, MSP program, I would really encourage them to do so because they won't be disappointed.
