Dear DMU Community,
“When we speak of a Christian understanding of happiness and of mental health and wellbeing, we are speaking about the genuine flourishing of the human person…”
These words from Bishop Michael Burbidge’s pastoral letter point to the heart of our mission. A Christian vision of mental health is not simply about relief from suffering, but a freedom for something greater—an invitation to live in truth, purpose, and ultimately, in communion with God and others.
It is in this spirit that I am pleased to share Divine Mercy University’s 2025-2026 Annual Impact Report.
Over the past year, we have seen both the urgency of the mental health crisis and the clarity of our response. Across our nation and within our own communities, the effects of anxiety, depression, addiction, and isolation continue to grow. Yet this need only underscores the importance of forming professionals who understand the human person in light of both sound science and Catholic anthropology.
At DMU, that formation is not theoretical. It is lived, taught, and multiplied. Our students and alumni are entering the field prepared to accompany others toward lasting healing and authentic flourishing. Their work is already making a meaningful impact in clinics, schools, parishes, and communities across the country.
Within this report, you will see that impact more clearly. You will read about the continued growth of our academic programs, the strength of our faculty’s research, and the promising future of initiatives like our doctoral program in Counselor Education & Supervision. Each of these represents not only institutional progress, but lives being changed through faithful, integrated care.
None of this is possible without our faithful community of benefactors, friends, students, faculty, and staff.
Each person in our community is part of every life touched through this mission. Your support extends far beyond the University. It reaches every person our students and alumni serve.
I invite you to continue growing that impact: by sharing this report, by keeping DMU in your prayers, and by supporting the formation of those called to this vital work.
Thank you for your generosity, your faith, and your partnership in this mission. Be assured of my prayers for you and your loved ones.
Sincerely Yours in Christ,
