06I'm Emma Armstrong, and I'm from Alexandria, Louisiana. Currently, I'm getting my MSI, as part of the PsyD program, and then I'll be continuing through the PsyD program. What made me choose DMU was definitely, of course, the integration that DMU offers. You know, when I was looking at graduate programs and trying to decide, I knew that I would be incorporating my faith into what I was doing no matter what. But I thought, why try to do it on my own when I could go somewhere where people have been doing it for decades already and I can learn from them? So that was really something that really drew me to DMU. Also just the fact that it's a smaller program and you get that cohort relationship and you get a lot of personal attention.

53Those are all things that really drew me to DMU. So currently I've been doing my first year of clinical work and it has been such a beautiful experience. And definitely just like bringing the integration that DMU offers into that clinical work has been a really fruitful experience for me. It really has helped me understand, you know, like when I'm sitting with a client, it's most importantly just about treating them like a human being created in the image and likeness of God and recognizing their fundamental goodness. And that when I bring that to the table, all of the other clinical interventions that I do, have so much more weight because they're coming from a place of love and coming from a place of knowing that that client is created good.

42So, yeah. So definitely, I've seen the impact in my clinical work already, and I'm excited to see how it continues to do so as I continue. After I graduate, I am definitely really interested in becoming a supervisor in whatever form of fashion that looks like, whether I'm doing something like DMU and being in a teaching position as well, or whether that looks like I'm at an agency or a private practice. My own experiences just being supervised have been really rewarding, and so that's something that I definitely want to carry with me and pass forward to future clinicians. So I have been very fortunate to be the recipient of a very generous scholarship, to attend the PsyD program, which I am incredibly, incredibly forever grateful for.

36So it's really meant a lot to me that there are people out there that are willing to support, the students and, you know, help us see through the program. You know, every client that we touch, like every life that we touch, the donors are part of that too. And yeah, there's nothing that I can do that I ever can say that, oh yeah, I did it on my own. There's always a whole group of people that are there, doing that with me. So know that every client that we, interact with will be someone that you have touched in your life too. I just want to extend a very, very heartfelt thank you to all the donors. Every client that I have gotten to work with and will ever get to work with, is not only impacted by me, but is also impacted by the donors who have made my education possible.

24So just know that, you know, your generosity is doing what Christ has asked, like it's bearing fruit that will remain and fruit that will last and continue to give. So just from my heart and for all my clients who don't even know, just extending a big thank you.
