Biography

Danielle Johnson, PhD, LCPC, NCC, is a licensed clinical professional counselor and supervisor in Maryland and a board-certified counselor through the National Board of Certified Counselors. She is a mental health counselor for global missionaries, with research and clinical interests in the psychological aspects of trauma and resilience, particularly among Christian missionaries. Her work also explores the integration of faith in higher education, examines social and collaborative practices within faith and cultural settings, and addresses concerns related to addiction and substance use disorder.

Danielle teaches full-time at Grace College in Winona Lake, IN, and has served as an adjunct instructor at Divine Mercy University since 2023. While at DMU, she has taught a course on Personality, Individual Differences, and Intelligence. She is also planning to teach Marriage and Family Interventions.

Danielle completed her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Regent University and a post-graduate certificate in Trauma Studies in 2017. She earned her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision in 2024. Her master’s level internships were completed at St. Mary’s College of Maryland’s Center for Counseling and Psychological Services. For her doctoral-level internships, she served at Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation’s Butler Center for Research as a graduate researcher and at Regent University Counseling Department as a teaching and research assistant.

Danielle was a 2021-2022 McNeil Scholars fellow with the Christian Association of Psychological Studies and a 2016 NBCC Masters Level fellow. She has worked locally and internationally in trauma healing and emotional health wellness-related causes. Danielle is also a wife and mother of two. She and her family attend Crossroad Church in St. Leonard, MD.
