International Students at Divine Mercy University

Divine Mercy University, in its over 25 years of forming students in the mental health professions has welcomed students from over 39 countries. These students not only bring a unique perspective to the DMU community but also go out to spread our meta model of human flourishing to their own communities upon graduation. 

If you are part of the DMU online community (Master’s in Psychology, Master’s or Doctorate in Counseling you do not need to apply for a visa to study at DMU.

If you plan to travel to the US to study in the Psy.D. program (Doctorate in Clinical Psychology) you will need to apply for the F-1 visa.

From Application to Acceptance

Review admission requirements

Make sure that you meet the requirements for admission for your program.  Each program has different admission requirements:

Access the DMU application

Click on the APPLY button on the web page or this link.  Scroll down to find your program and begin the application process.

  • You will need a credit card to pay the non-refundable application fee

Submit any additional required materials

Submitting the online application is just the first step to completing your application. International students are required to provide additional documentation for  your application to be complete:

  • TOEFL scores All international students whose native language is not English have to submit proof of English language proficiency. (see program for cutoff scores)
  • Course by course translation of your undergraduate degree transcript

  VISA REQUIREMENTS:  International students in our global campus online programs do not need a visa.  International students who will travel to the US to study in our on campus Psy.D. program will need to apply for an F-1 visa. 

From Admission to Being Seated in Class- Onboarding

Once admitted to DMU, all students will need to be onboarded in order to complete all of the paperwork required to begin classes.  This includes completing the following:

  • Set up your DMU student email account
  • Submit your Social Security Number to Populi (our student information system)
  • Sign your Enrollment Agreement
  • Sign up for the DMU Orientation
  • Complete the DMU Library Orientation
