This year the Center for Trauma and Resiliency Studies is going to Rome, Italy to explore the topic of Sexual Trauma from a few interesting perspectives while also touring the city and gaining an experiential experience of the church’s early history along with that of Rome. We will spend time at the Vatican touring its museums, the Cisteen Chapel, Catacombs, St Peter’s tomb, and so much more. We have worked out an exchange with the Pontifical Gregorian University (Seminary) to present on Compassion Fatigue and the HEART Model (Complex Sexual Trauma) and hear a lecture of one of their professors (adjunct from Germany) discussing Treatment and diagnosis of sexual issues. Dr. Gabriel Dy-Lyacco will discuss, also with Hans Zollner, S.J., a Vatican Commission, and the work they have done for the ‘Church’ regarding Sexual Trauma issues. We will visit many of the tourist sites such as the Colosseum,  Roman Forum, Greek Parthenon, etc. We will squeeze in as much fun, food, and touring as we can in the time we are there along with the commitments above. Housing will be dorm-style double occupancy at another University and Breakfast is included. Lunch and Dinner will be out but some of those meals will be covered.
