Students are encouraged to utilize resources such as Facebook groups to be able to successfully find housing. There are a variety of online resources for students to find housing near the Divine Mercy University campus.

PadMapper – Making apartment hunting less awful, almost fun. PadMapper plots apartments on a big map and lets you filter for exactly what you want.
RadPad – Find apartments and houses for rent for free! Use Pay with RadPad to pay rent online with Apple Pay or major credit card.
Realtor.com – A trusted rental resource with a wide range of filters that help you curate what you are looking for in terms of pricing, neighborhoods, and amenities, and its listing page gives you scores of information about different neighborhoods, such as schools data and price comparisons.
Rent.com – Students have different needs than retirees or growing families. Rent.com pledges to help you find living for study and play
RentCafe – Detailed property information, such as photos, floorplans, amenities, and schools in the area, without logging in to the site or submitting personal information. You may contact the property, schedule a tour, and apply online on RENTCafé.
Rent Jungle – Online search engine for rental housing developed in response to a gap in the market by helping apartment hunters navigate through the online “jungle” of rental housing and finally get connected easily, pain-free way of finding all rental housing listings in one spot.
Rentable – Renter-friendly way to find an apartment, by through a modern, user-friendly interface to make apartments incredibly easy to find.

Factors to Consider
When considering LOCATION:
- How accessible is it?
- Use Google Maps to see how far away the place is from the Divine Mercy University campus.
- DMU is located in Sterling, VA. Ashburn, Dulles, Herndon 10 miles of the DMU campus.
- Is it a safe neighborhood?
- Is it near a grocery store, gym, library, etc.?
When considering PRICE:
- Realize unfortunately that everything in this area is rather expensive.
- Many students experience that it is worth it to pay an extra $50 or $100 per month in order to live closer, making adjustment to the area significantly easier.
When considering ROOMMATES:
- See if any of your incoming classmates are interested in rooming with you or see if there are students starting at the JPII Institute in DC or at CUA looking for roommates.

St. Joseph Seminary is located in Northeast Washington, DC, just blocks from Catholic University and the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. The main purpose of the seminary is for the formation of men for service to the Church, as Josephite Priests or Brothers. It includes Pre-Novitiate Formation, Josephite Brotherhood Formation, and Seminarian Formation for those in the Philosophy or Theology program for priesthood. Amenities include: individual rooms, meals, parking, wireless internet, workout equipment, laundry facilities, and shared bathrooms.

Centro Maria was opened as a residence for young ladies between 18 and 29 years of age. Life in the Residence run by the Religious of Mary Immaculate is oriented towards creating a family atmosphere. Centro Maria is located 2 blocks from the Brookland/CUA metro stop. Amenities include single rooms furnished with semiprivate bathrooms, meals, wireless internet connection in several areas of the residence, chapel, TV lounge, communal dining room, library, laundry room, small kitchenettes on each floor (refrigerator, microwave, etc), private parking, and a garden. Rates are $165 per week, with a $75 registration fee.

The Rosary House of Studies is the home of the Dominican Sisters of the Presentation. They have facilities for housing young women, but space is limited. All rooms are single. Breakfast foods are provided everyday and dinner is provided Monday through Friday. Room and board is $600/mo. Wireless internet access is available. Rosary House is a ten-minute walk from the Brookland/CUA metro stop. One student said it is good if you want a quiet study environment but that it is not good for community and it is not in the safest neighborhood.

Casa Sacri Cuori is a residence run by the Little Workers of the Sacred Hearts which offers housing for women studying or working in the Washington, DC area. Rates are for single unconditioned rooms in a smoke-free building. Applications may be made in writing or in person. Amenities include all utilities paid, large common library, cable Internet service in each room, washer and dryer, large chapel, large kitchen with unlimited use, and large common dining room and TV room. Limited maid service. Some parking is available off main road, but is limited. Unlimited phone use in the continental USA. Casa Sacri Cuori is 5 minute walk to the red line metro station and 10 minute walk to Catholic University.

One hundred twenty residents are housed at Thompson-Markward Hall, which was built in 1931. The women who stay at TMH come to Washington for a variety of reasons. Many are congressional interns and staffers, women seeking or starting jobs, and university graduate students. Thompson-Markwood Hall is located near the Capitol Building. Services Offered:Furnished single air-conditioned rooms, housekeeping services (limited), two multi-unit baths located on each floor, coin-operated laundry, television lounge, living room with fireplace, library, garden, and sundeck. The IGH is run by an all-volunteer staff eager to show the love of Christ through the ministry of hospitality to guests from all over the world. 12 beds in 5 rooms of three-story house in quiet neighborhood, steps from 16th St. bus line. Includes breakfast, 9 pm teatime. No guest pets or alcohol.
